The Artist

I am a professionally trained art tutor, who aims to obtain optimum results from all my students. I specialise in the traditional skills required for producing drawing and painting of a high standard. The atmosphere in my mixed ability groups for adults is always relaxed and friendly.

In 2004, in conjunction with the Watford Arts and Heritage Manager, I founded the The Watford School of Drawing and Painting. I merged the School with the classes I ran at the Meriden Community Centre in 2010.  Posts I have held include Tutor for Arts Culture Harrow and Watford Borough Council, and Resident Artist for Chalfont Lodge Care Centre. I also run an art class in Bushey and an evening class at Harrow Arts Centre.

In addition I offer a range of illustrated lectures given from an artist's viewpoint. These lectures which I present to clubs, societies and general interest groups focus on how paintings are conceived and how better to explore them.

Another lecture is specially designed for artists and art students. This lecture, “Limiting and Expanding Your Palette”, has been devised to benefit those who are interested in gaining more knowledge about the performance of their paints. It examines a variety of commonly used pigments and offers a range of suggested palettes.

Finally, I offer constructive criticisms and adjudications for members of art societies.
